  1. Approval of Minutes from Meeting in September

  2. Update on AVID National Demonstration School Status
    1. November 20th- we will be inviting parents and the community to celebrate with us.
  3. School Safety Concerns/Digital Citizenship
    1. Discussion:
      1. Nothing specific from SCC Trainings, except responsibility to discuss it
      2. School vestibule at entrance staying according to Kurtzhals, even in re-model plans
      3. Cameras:
        1. Stairwells now have cameras, so not an issue anymore
        2. NEED: Outside cameras for more visibility in bigger radius around school
          1. Maybe having cameras that look “in” to the schools like the high schools are going to be implementing
        3. ADA needs: No way to get a wheelchair from one side of the building to another, especially because of stairs
        4. Library concerns such as homeless people in cars changing, etc. in the parking lot
          1. maybe request PD make some sweeps periodically
          2. ParentSquare-type communication to students and parents about how to use the library for drop-offs/pick-ups, i.e. parking lot etiquette for pedestrians and drivers
      4. Digital Citizenship
        1. Teachers using LanSchool to monitor students, even projecting whole class screens for accountability
        2. Students using alternate internets (canyonair & phone hotspots) to bypass LanSchool
        3. Ms. Miles puts our monthly digital citizenship newsletter info on School to Home documents, as well as additional communication for resources parents can get more info
        4. Since we don’t allow cell phone use during school hours, significant decrease in social media and digital drama during school day

    1. Discussion:
      1. Identified where crosswalks will be
        1. No crossing on Sego Lily by top parking lot
        2. Bottom parking lot crossing will stay
        3. Lighting & cameras added

  2. Counseling Advisory Committee
    1. A lot of students in crisis, dealing with a lot of heavy things outside of school, more referrals to DCFS & MCOT than ever.
    2. Positive: Our students are talking to us, communicating and asking for help in coping with things they are struggling with
    3. Canyoneering Nights coming for parents/families
