  • Amendment to TSSA money:
    • Possible options for the $27,000 we had reserved for .5 of a teacher.
    • Proposed spending addendum to implement one or two study skills classes for students who are identified as struggling with work completion. The cost of an additional period for a teacher is approximately $5,000 per semester.
    • Sending additional teachers to the AVID summer institute. Approximately $2000 per teacher.
    • Motion by Delese Bettinson to use $5,000 of $27,000 for 1 study skills class for second semester 2019/2020 school year. Remaining money to be used for sending teachers to AVID summer institute.
    • Second by Steph Davis.
    • Approved unanimously by SCC voting members in attendance.
  • SCC Digital and Safety Report
    • For internet safety week we had a speaker from the Sandy Police Department internet crimes against children unit speak
    • We sent tips home via the newsletter and Facebook.
    • We taught information regarding internet safety in some classes.
  • Safety Plan
    • Completed School Safety Plan on Dashboard Physical Safety
    • Crosswalk
    • Parking lot – angle the parking
    • Drop off on 1300 East
    • Pedestrian Safety #1 Concern
    • Action plan: paint arrows in parking lot and asking for removal of crosswalk
    • Other primary concerns: 1300 East Digital Safety
  • POM assembly – guest speaker on grooming and internet safety
    • Filtering System

Counseling Advisory Committee:

  • Reality Town
    • Volunteers are hard to get
  • 8th grade CCRs happening now before high school registration begins in February
  • Meetings with elementary principals happening now to get ready for 5th grade registration

CSIP Goals Update:

  • Goals: Reading Inventory growth of 15% proficiency from Fall Data. Math Inventory growth of 15% proficiency from Fall Data.

    • At the end of term 1, 78% of students are on track.
    • Majority of students came from TA
  • Goal: reduce office discipline moderate/major incidents by 10% and reduce suspensions by 10%.
    • Baseline: 236 office referrals, 37 out of school suspensions, 70 in school suspensions
      • Using restorative practices to all students an opportunity to feel more connected to community
    • Baseline: Currently, 105 office disciplinary referrals, 14 out of school suspensions and 9 in school suspension
