New Administrative Team

Introducing Eastmont Middle’s New Administrative Team

Together, they have devoted more than 50 years to education, most it in middle schools, and they share in the customer-service philosophy that students come first: “The students are our customers and we will do what is best for our students.” To help you get acquainted, here are a few fun facts about Principal Stacy Kurtzhals and Assistant Principals Taylor Hansen and Brooke Rauzon.

Stacy Kurtzhals

·         Mrs. Kurtzhals has 22 years in education, most recently as an administrator on special assignment supporting Canyons District schools.
·         By day, she’s an educator. But on evenings and weekends, she transforms into “Ninja Momma.” Both of her sons are highly-ranked Ninja Warriors who have competed in national tournaments. She also has been known to compete in obstacle course challenges, including the Spartan race.

Taylor Hansen

·         This will be Mr. Hansen’s eighth year as an assistant principal. He comes to Eastmont by way of administrative posts at Union Middle and a middle school in Seattle.
·         He is an avid cyclist and has two girls (ages 1 and 4).

Brooke Rauzon

·         Ms. Rauzon began her teaching career in 2005 at Canyon’s District’s Brookwood Elementary. She has worked as an achievement coach and most recently as an assistant principal at Union Middle and Sandy Elementary.
·         She loves music and attending concerts with her teenage daughter and son.

Congratulations to all participants of Eastmont Middle School's Battle of the Books Competition this year, April 16, 2019!  We have the results of the top two teams:  The Avengers are the 1st place winners and Shark Man came in 2nd place!  The 3rd place team is Sevies, those 3 teams will go onto the district competition this Friday.

“Inch by Inch, Life’s a Cinch.  Yard by Yard, Life is hard.” Reading improves our learning skills inch by inch, making it easier as we go yard by yard.  We are trying to build a community of readers, encouraging book discussion and the challenging students to read and recall information.  Our hope in doing so is to improve the lexicons of the students and gets them reading a variety of texts to broaden their reading, empathy and interest. We greatly appreciate all the support of our staff, PTSA volunteers, and parents for their time and dedication to reading and programs that facilitate a reading community.  #eastmontreads #patriotpride
