Background: Mr. Edvalson grew up in Utah and has lived here all his life. He is the youngest of 4 chilidren and has interests in learning languages, math, and coding. Mr. Edvalson has 4 children. A random fact you would not know is that Mr. Edvalson speaks French.

Education: B.S. in Behavioral Science, UVU. M.S. in Psychology at USU. English as a second language endorsement. American Indian/Alaskan Native endorsement. Administrative certificate USU.  It should be noted, Mr. Edvalson is from South Utah County…

Experience: Mr. Edvalson began his career in School Counseling at Union Middle School in 2006-2007. While there Mr. Edvalson started many programs to assist students in their academic success, not limited to but including a “Counselors’ Assistance” program, where students were guided every day for an entire period all year long to improve scholastic achievement and motivation. Mr. Edvalson also started an intensive outreach program to include students in psychoeducational skills groups to increase basic academic and social skills to improve student quality of life. During the time Mr. Edvalson spent at Union Middle School he received the following awards: Jordan Education Foundation Teacher of the year 2007-2008,  Best of the Best Data Project Award 2009, Utah’s Jr. High School Counselor of the Year 2011, I love my neighborhood school counselor state contest 2014, and DPMS PTSA Outstanding Student Services Professional 2015-16.  Mr. Edvalson has spent the last two years at Draper Park Middle School. 1 year as a counselor and another year as an Assistant Principal.  Mr. Edvalson licensed as an administrator the through Utah State University certificate program.

Hobbies and Special Interests:  Mr. Edvalson enjoys a variety of activities including singing, learning math, learning languages, and learning coding and working with data. Mr. Edvalson also loves to travel with his family and enjoys the opportunity to do so as much as his schedule will allow. He has traveled to places of such renown as Italy, Switzerland, and the ever exotic Nephi, Utah. Mr. Edvalson has a big belief in the importance of school involvement in programs as his life was vastly improved with his own school involvement in High School, as he was in the Payson Sr. High School elite choir, as well as the Senior class president class of ’98!!.
