Miscellaneous Information

Classroom number: 311

Background: Mrs. Reavy was born in Utah and has lived here all her life. She went to Brighton High School and later BYU and the U of U. She has been married for more than 20 years and has three boys and two large dogs. A few years ago, Mrs. Reavy went back to get her masters degree from the University of Utah, and now she's more of a Utah fan than a BYU fan. Although she enjoyed learning about new ways to make learning exciting and meaningful, she is happy to not have to write any big long research papers anymore. Mrs. Reavy has been honored to receive the Granite Elementary PTA Teacher of the Year Award in 2001, a Sandy City Teacher Appreciation Award in 2005, and Granite Elementary Teacher of the Year, 2013. This will be her seventeenth year teaching sixth grade. Wow, that's a long time! But she still loves it, and she's looking forward to having a great year.

Education: BS Elementary Education, Brigham Young University. Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning, University of Utah.

Experience: Specialist, Assistant Director, Oxford Learning Source. 6th Grade Teacher, Granite Elementary.

Hobbies and Special Interests: When Mrs. Reavy is not teaching, she can likely be found taking walks, hiking in the mountains, reading, snowboarding, going to concerts, and taking trips to places like Puerto PeƱasco in Mexico, New York, Seattle, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Boise, and Denver. And when she's not traveling, she most often will be found at home working on some home-remodeling project.
